Barringer Drive
Barringer Drive is named for Osmond L. Barringer, the remarkable man who developed the Revolution Park neighborhood through which the street runs. In the 1st half of the twentieth century, he was one of Charlotte’s most colorful promoters, owner of the city’s first automobile (a steam-powered Locomobile, in 1900), co-owner of the first Charlotte Speedway in 1924, among other highlights.
